EXPAND THE SCOPE OF THE ILLINOIS TORTURE INQUIRY AND RELIEF COMMISSION
Senate Bill 1276 expands the scope of the TIRC to include allegations of torture occurring anywhere in the state, so that survivors of police torture can pursue justice regardless of where they were tortured. The bill also removes the deadline for new claims.
